Early Years Funding at Hailes Barn Day Nursery
At Hailes Barn Day Nursery, we believe every child deserves the best possible start in life — and we offer funded childcare hours through the government’s Early Years Funding scheme.
This funding helps families access high-quality childcare and early education, allowing your little one to learn, play, and grow in a caring environment.
Funding Notes
Children entitled to 30 hours funded childcare will receive up to 22 hours of stretched funded childcare per week available over 51 weeks of the year.
Children entitled to 15 hours funded childcare will receive up to 11 hours of stretched funded childcare per week over 51 weeks of the year.
We do not offer term time only places.
A £1.70 per funded hour charge applies to cover additional nursery costs.**
10% discount for younger siblings attending Hailes Barn Nursery.
For children who receive 11 hours funding per week are entitled to attend 1 morning session 8am - 1pm and 1 afternoon session 12pm - 6pm to ensure maximum funded hours are being claimed.
**The consumables £1.70 per funded hour charge is a voluntary charge.
What the £1.70 per Funded Hour Covers
The provision of essential items and services not covered by government funding, including:
Nappies and wipes
Breakfast, snacks, and supper
Toiletries (e.g., nappy creams)
Sunscreen (as required)
Extra curriculum sessions such as music and dance classes
Gardening equipment and resources
Trips around the local area
Baking ingredients for cookery sessions

Other Charges
Lunch (for children attending for a full day ): £3.50 per day
Late collection fee: £5.00 per 15 minutes
Ad-hoc extra session (subject to availability): Full hourly rate applies (£8.30 per hour)
A £100 registration fee is required when signing up to Hailes Barn.**
**A £125 refundable deposit will be applicable to a child accessing a funded only place.
When to Apply for Funded Childcare
Applying early ensures everything is in place for your child to start their funded hours smoothly.
Missed the Deadline?
If you miss the deadline and don’t receive your eligibility code in time, your funding will begin from the next term, funding unfortunately cannot be backdated.
If your child is aged 3–4 years, you’ll still receive the universal 15 hours of funded childcare that every child is entitled to.
